Most people guess cream eye shadow. (Usually telling
me, where else would you use those colors?) Others know exactly what it is, but,
admit to having no idea how to use them.´
These are Colour Correctors, they are applied before foundation
to even out skin tone. Do you have bad under eye circles? What about rosacea? Or
Acne? Or a Bruise? These correctors help conceal the problems. It’s a fairly
easy process, as long as you know which colour to use.
This is the colour wheel! Colors directly opposite
each other are complimentary, meaning they go well together. For example,
Yellow and purple or green and red. Often we see these colours paired together
(team colours, school colours, flags), but these colours also help neutralize
each other.
Let’s say I woke up this morning and looked in the
mirror only to find a pimple starting to form on my forehead. The reddish bump
has started to form. To conceal it I look at “red” on the color wheel and see
that “green” is directly in front of it. So I take the green (usually a mint
colored) and dab a little on. Rosacea or Acne would also use this green.
Under eye circles, ugh! Even if you sleep you have
them! What’s the secret to concealing them? Under eye circles are often bluish
even purplish and so on the colour wheel you would say yellow or orange are
opposite them. This is true if you have darker skin tones. If you have fair complexions
you tend to need a pink.
Liverspots (Agespots) and Freckles. You can cover up
with yellow or a concealer that is one shade lighter than your skin.
